Tips
1. Buick engine anti-theft system operation:
Start with key
This vehicle is equipped with a passive anti-theft system;
This system does not require manual activation or deactivation.
This system automatically disengages when the key is removed from the ignition switch position. The key is used with the anti-theft module in the car.
This system automatically disarms when the correct key is used to start the vehicle. The key uses a radio frequency transceiver matched with the vehicle's anti-theft module control unit and automatically disarms the system. Only the correct key can start the vehicle. If the key is damaged, the vehicle may not start.
When a malfunction occurs while engaging or disabling the anti-theft system, the security indicator light in the instrument cluster will illuminate.
2. Be careful not to hit driver's head on the tailgate or to put driver's hands between the tailgate and the cargo area when closing the tailgate. When driver are storing or picking up luggage from the cargo area, or by using a forward and back kicking motion under the center of the rear bumper for hands free access, while the engine is idling, do not stand in front of the exhaust pipe. Driver may get burned. Do not allow any passenger in the cargo space. They may get hurt during hard braking, a sudden acceleration, or a crash.
