Tips
1. Prior to usage, arrange for the key to be programmed at a nearby car locksmith.
2. Avoid sharing your smart key's programming instructions or codes with unauthorized individuals to maintain the security of your vehicle.
3. If the vehicle is equipped with a key, disables the button on the key when the key is inserted in the ignition. Keyless door lock system operation: Some vehicles are equipped with keyless door locking systems that allow owners to lock and unlock the doors and open the trunk without having to take out the remote key from their pocket or carry-on bag. The remote control key should be within 1 meter of the door or luggage compartment to be opened.
4. Remote No Longer in Vehicle Alert If the vehicle is on with a door open and then all doors are closed, the vehicle will check for RKE transmitters inside. If an RKE transmitter is not detected, the Driver Information Center (DIC) will display NO REMOTE DETECTED and the horn will chirpthree times. This occurs only once each time the vehicle is driven.
5. Programming Transmitters to the Vehicle
Only RKE transmitters programmed to the vehicle will work. If a transmitter is lost or stolen, a replacement can be purchased and programmed through your dealer. The vehicle can be reprogrammed so that lost or stolen transmitters no longer work. Each vehicle can have up to eight transmitters matched to it.
