Tips
1. Transponder keys contain a microchip for security and use radio waves to activate the vehicle's ignition system.
2. There are three main types of car keys:
The first is a purely mechanical key.
The second type is an electronic transponder key that adds a remote control module to the mechanical key (the most widely used remote control key now).
The third type is the more popular engine keyless start system, which is the smart key.
3. When an electronic transponder key (remote key) is inserted into the keyhole in the car, the electric coil in the socket will power the key. Then the electronic remote control module inside the key will send a key signal to the car, and the car will verify it after receiving the signal. The verification process is similar to the principle of remote unlocking. Only after the vehicle and key are successfully paired and verified can the engine be started and the vehicle driven. Today's remote control keys are most commonly used on mid- to low-end models.
